Yogi Adityanath is an Indian Hindu monk and politician who has served as the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh since 2017. He is the state's longest-serving chief minister and the first to hold the office for two consecutive terms. Previously, he served as a Member of Parliament for the Gorakhpur constituency for five consecutive terms from 1998 to 2017. He is also the Mahant (head priest) of the Gorakhnath Math monastery in Gorakhpur and founded the Hindu Yuva Vahini youth organization.
